GreenMachine by Shannon F
Shannon Flaherty author of Greenmachine here! Thanks for
coming to my page, and here’s a little bit about me and why I’m blogging.
My true desire in life is to make my existence meaningful. In
other words, by the time I have to move onto the next life, I want know that I
made an ethical difference in this world for representing my higher power’s
will. I chose the Community Health Education Degree at UMD because I feel that
I can make this world a better place leading myself and others towards, not
only just avoiding sickness, but also being able to live our lives to our
optimal state. My opinion of optimal
state of living is being able to work to overcome life’s challenges and realize
that happiness in mental, physical, and spiritual growth.
My most current task in community health is what’s going on
in the environment and more specifically, what’s happening to the world’s water
supply. My main interest is in
nutrition, but I decided to branch out and learn about the element that gives
us the ability to grow food. Food and water are topics that are inseparable; if
one suffers, so does the other. My main source of water knowledge is coming
from my chosen book called “Aqua Shock. “
My blog is named “Green machine by Shannon F,” because the
color green represents growth and vitality. It also resembles the Eco Friendly
movement that’s happening in our country for efforts in sustainability.
The reality of what’s currently happening to our food water
supply can be very scary and depressing. However, since the beginning of time
human kind has been faced with problems in terms of finding resources to
survive and we’ve been able to use our brains to fight for existence. The
current issues, in my mind are our higher power’s way of making us use our
brains to keep pushing for ethical sustainability. I believe we can keep living
on this earth but we need to start taking the necessary steps to change.
Even if we do everything we can do to change for the better,
and it’s still not good enough then it’s out of our control. For the time being, it’s the effort that
counts in this life, and read my blog on how to start making efforts to
change.
Peace, love, and hope. Sincerely,
