Advocacy Project: My Political Representatives

Hey new group members!
I did quite a bit of research on our representatives, and where they stand of environmental issues. I've included youtube of our politicians talking, so if you're fried on reading info, click on the links, sit back, relax, and learn.

Some of my own advocacy experience has been with UMD's MPIRG. We recently tabled in Kirby having people signing letters to Amy Klobuchar to sign on the "Clean Air Act." Before that, we've been calling to her office to ask her to support the Fair Farm Bill.

Barrak Obama.

  1. Hey Shannon! I'm excited to get and blog with you during this part of the semester. This advocacy project should be interesting. I haven't really thought about how much advocacy health educators do in the community, but it is our responsibility to advocate for people in many aspects of health. Knowing the right people to contact and what to say to them will be a very good thing to know.
    Talk to you soon!

  2. It was good to see who the political representatives are for MN. I'm from WI, so I'm not up to date on politics for MN. Well, to be honest, I'm not very up to date with politics at all! I'm looking forward to learning more about them during this portion of the semester and hearing what other people have to say on important issues!

  3. Hi Shannon!

In reference to your questions you commented on my post;Unfortunately I have not met any of my reps personally and IL is a Democratic state. Also where is your photo of President Obama?
